Elected Officials


The popularly elected seven-member City Council is the legislative body of Pickerington. Duties and responsibilities of Council include:
  • Possesses exclusive appropriations power
  • Appointment of the Law Director, Finance Director and City Engineer
  • Concurrence on the Mayor's appointment of the City Manager
  • Making citizen appointments to several boards and commissions
Council appoints the four standing Council committees:
  • Finance Committee
  • Rules Committee
  • Safety Committee
  • Service Committee
The City Manager is the Chief Administrator of the City whose duties include:
  • The day-to-day operations of the municipality
  • Supervision of municipal employees
  • Appointing all employees except those appointed by Council
